Weight loss and weight management is something that many people need help with. The age old advice of "eat less, move more" is good but not easily actionable by many people. Perhaps you have heard a little voice in your head encouraging you to eat things you know you don't need. Maybe you overeat and don't notice the signals from your body telling you to stop. Perhaps you need help in figuring out what is healthy and what isn't. At the Sheffield Wellness Centre we understand that different people need different approaches to making change happen. How a nutritionist could help you lose weight

Some people simply don't know what is healthy to eat and what isn't when it comes to food. Some people like to be given structure and direction to help them make changes happen. If you have a need for clarity and support in what to eat and when then a nutritionist could be just the person you need to help you.

We have several skilled nutrition focused professionals who can devise an individual and specific plan for your food in order to help you to achieve your goals.

Hypnotherapy for weight loss

Hypnotherapy for weight control is a method that some people didn't even know was possible but it certainly is! Richard Hennessy is the principal hypnotherapist at the wellness centre and over 10 years he has helped many people to control their weight through hypnosis.

Your thoughts and feelings have a big impact on what you eat, when and why. Hypnotherapy is natural and can be a very effective method for bringing about change.

Weight management counselling

Counselling could help you to take control of your weight specifically and your health more generally. There could be a wide range of reasons as to why your physical health isn't so good. A counsellor could help you explore some of those reasons and potentially help you uncover problems or difficulties that have been contributing to the problem.

With this information you could then find alternative ways forward so you can be happier and healthier.

Exercise classes to lose weight

Some people don't have a traumatic history that affects their weight. Some people do know what is healthy and what isn't. If you know that you just aren't active enough then we have people who can help with that also.

Throughout the week we have classes at the Sheffield Wellness Centre where you can be more active. These classes change week to week and month to month so it is important to check the up to date listings as to what classes are running.

Classes we often feature include yoga classes and circuit training.

My problem was weight loss and not having the motivation to do anything about it.I contacted Richard Hennessy and after one chat and one hypnosis session I was on my way. The actual hypnosis was nothing like I imagined. I thought I would go into a... trance like in the movies!! I was totally aware of everything the whole time and at the end felt completely relaxed. Before hypnosis I would eat because it was meal time regardless of whether I was hungry, but after, I only eat when I am hungry and I can leave food on my plate instead of clearing it - a flashback to childhood days when you couldn't leave the table until your plate was clear.I had one more recording from Richard, because I couldn't get to another appointment, and don't feel I need anymore. If I feel as if I am slipping back into old ways I listen to the recording and feel fine again.Richard provides a recording of all sessions to take away with you so its not like he is pressuring you to going back again and again.I would fully recommend him to anyone.Thankyou Richard!!read more

After having tried to loose two stones in weight, with no success, I decided to try hypnotherapy. I found Richard, at Focused Hypnosis, from searching on the internet. I have been amazed at the difference a few sessions has made to me. Not only... have a lost 10lbs in a few months but my whole outlook on life is far more positve. The recordings made of the sessions is a very useful tool to take away and replay to help reinforce what you are trying to achieve. I have recently been on two all inclusive holidays and I only put on one pound! I have been attending Gemma Hobsons fitness classes on a Monday and Wednesday for several weeks now and I cannot praise it enough. As a bigger woman I always felt conscious attending big gyms and found them intimidating. However at the classes Gemma... does the vibe is comfortable , welcoming and I’m seeing a big difference. I was embarrassed to open up about the extremity of my comfort eating but Richard made me feel comfortable about it. Even before the weight loss hypnotherapy sessions began he made a difference to my thinking by helping to change my perspective on... the issue and see it as something I could get control of. 3 weeks and 3 sessions later and comfort eating has lost its grip on me, I'm making better and more conscious decisions about food and steadily losing weight. I want to say a huge thanks to Richard he is amazing person and I am very pleased working with Richard ! I can't believe how I am change I mean my attitude and behaviour with my food , in the past I try 1000 diet and SlimmingWorld and weight... watchers etc , yes it helps to losing weight but for temporary, but with hypnotherapy sessions you can start control what you eating and how much ! I always having sweets after every single meal even if I was full but now I don't need it!!!! I had 2 hypnotherapy sessions and I am very very satisfied. I am so grateful I meet Rich in my life I know it's not very cheap but believe me it worse it every single penny!!!!!! Thanks Richard!read more

I saw Richard during the course of four sessions to help me get my weight under control without going on some magic diet. Richard is a lovely, friendly, and knowledgeable person, who made me feel at ease from the word go. The sessions where highly... enjoyable and allowed me to explore the inner knowledge and strength that I already possessed but wasn't aware of, by being nudged in the right direction. I immediately saw a change in my eating habits which have resulted steady loss of around 1 kg per week (16 kg in total so far) without much change in what I eat. Through the sessions, I have learn to regain control of my eating and to allow myself to enjoy food again. As a complete beginner and not being quite as agile as I'd like I was a bit nervous about attending a Yoga class but while I may be slightly biased given Elisha of Grow Yoga is my daughter I can honestly say I enjoyed every second of her class. She's a beautiful human with a passion and... energy that radiates from her. She explains everything perfectly and encourages you to just go at your own pace and enjoy. On each occasion I've been I've left feeling like the world is a much brighter place with a calmness that is rare to feel in this very busy world.
