I have a certificate in humanistic counselling and continue to develop my practice through advanced clinical training in Transactional Analysis and Integrative Psychotherapy. I currently practice as a university counsellor on Mondays and see private clients throughout the rest of the week.
People seek therapy for a wide variety of reasons; you might have a specific problem that is troubling you, be looking for some extra support to help you through a change or loss, struggling with depression or anxiety, or simply looking for somewhere to talk completely freely. I tailor my approach to each client aiming to provide a safe and welcoming environment in which you can explore whatever it is that brings you to the therapy room.
How I can help you
My primary discipline is Transactional Analysis, a diverse form of therapy that draws on psychodynamic, person-centred, and cognitive behavioural theory. There are concepts and tools that can be shared with clients, rather than solely informing the approach of the therapist. At the heart of Transactional Analysis is the therapeutic relationship, based upon empathy and openness.
In therapy I work with each client, rather than for them, it is important that potential clients understand that therapy is a collaborative process that demands involvement from them in order to get the best result.
Change is not always easy, and as such neither is therapy – but there is a wealth of potential reward to be gained through that first choice, to begin a therapeutic journey.
