Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) involves examining how we think and how we respond when we feel low, anxious or upset. Using CBT techniques, we can identify patterns of thinking and responding that can make us feel worse and practice changing these patterns, to achieve more helpful approaches to difficulties and improved wellbeing.

I provide a warm, supportive and collaborative approach in sessions. I prioritise forming a good therapeutic relationship with you and ensure you have the time and space to explore and understand your thoughts and feelings. I will also encourage you to identify your own therapy goals and support you in learning and practicing the techniques; integrating them into your daily life to help to empower you to achieve your goals.

Deciding to undertake psychological therapy is a big commitment and decision. It is therefore important that CBT is a suitable treatment for your problem, and you feel you are able to work with me. I offer a free, no obligation, 15-minute telephone consultation to all new clients. This gives us the opportunity to discuss the issues you want help with, how CBT could help and to give you a feel for how we might work together and therefore reassure you that you have made the right decision to work with me.
