When are sessions held and when do they start?

Sessions are open from Monday to Sunday starting from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. However, all sessions, including treatments and classes, must be booked in advance. To arrange a session, get in touch with the individual therapist to check availability and arrange different dates and times that you'd prefer.

What type of problems can hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy may help cope with many conditions from stress, anxiety, depression to substance abuse. It may also help with insomnia, weight problem, smoking, pain management and learning disorders, among other conditions. Typically, the process involves receiving instructions, such as being asked to think about pleasant experiences or using verbal cues to draw you into a trance-like state.

Will I be aware of what is going on during hypnosis?

The experience of hypnosis can be dramatically different for different people. Some people remember everything while some people remember nothing. Most people are a mixture of the two. The therapist will make suggestions to your subconscious, which may have an effect on how you live your life. Hypnosis has no side effects and is a very gentle therapy that many people find enjoyable.

What role does the hypnotic trance-state play?

The subconscious mind controls and regulates body functions. It stores memories of all that a person has experienced in the past, and it has been programmed to make conscious or unconscious choices in life. Hypnotherapy can be used to guide your subconscious mind to create more empowering habits, beliefs and positive thinking.

I'm practicing Cognitive Hypnotherapy from Sheffield Wellness Centre. The therapy rooms are clean, tidy and well organised, and the booking system is mostly easy to use, and the team have been really helpful. I'd recommend practicing therapy and seeing clients in person in Sheffield here as it's on Abbeydale Road and close to Nether Edge & Millhouses residential areas.

I used the Sheffield Wellness Centre for a few months to practice Psychotherapy from. The rooms were inviting and an enjoyable place to work. They were clean, quiet and warm. Client's have commented on the 'cozy' feel of them. The booking system was easy to use and great if you value flexibility.

I was embarrassed to open up about the extremity of my comfort eating but Richard made me feel comfortable about it. Even before the weight loss hypnotherapy sessions began he made a difference to my thinking by helping to change my perspective on the issue and see it as something I could get control of. 3 weeks and 3 sessions later and comfort eating has lost its grip on me, I'm making better and more conscious decisions about food and steadily losing weight. Contacted the Sheffield Wellness Centre for a Reki treatment. Communication was great and Richard put me in touch with Jennie Swift. The centre is a lovely relaxing space and Jennie was amazing, making time pre treatment to understand my needs and provide a lovely and safe space to have a relaxing reki treatment along with a lovely crystal and mantra to keep working on. I can’t recommend Jennie and the Sheffield Wellness Centre enough for the treatments and support provided.

I had a pregnancy massage with Fi and it was amazing! the centre is a very relaxing place and she had it warm and comfortable for me. Despite her wearing PPE, the gloves didn't affect the feel of the massage and wearing masks made me feel safe. The actual massage was so relaxing and relieved any tension I felt as Fi had asked me where any tension was. I would highly recommend her to any pregnant ladies!

As a complete beginner and not being quite as agile as I'd like I was a bit nervous about attending a Yoga class but while I may be slightly biased given Elisha of Grow Yoga is my daughter I can honestly say I enjoyed every second of her class. She's a beautiful human with a passion and energy that radiates from her. She explains everything perfectly and encourages you to just go at your own pace and enjoy. On each occasion I've been I've left feeling like the world is a much brighter place with a calmness that is rare to feel in this very busy world. I first went to the Sheffield Wellness Centre to attend a sound bath. I fell in love with the place and its energy, the studio was just so calm and welcoming. I have since then joined the practice and couldn't be more excited as the studio and therapy rooms for hire are just what is needed to build a safe and calm practice! I have had the most wonderful hypnotherapy session with Fi from the Sheffield Wellness Centre. I knew from previous chats with her that she had the perfect voice and open demeanor for hypnotherapy, and I wasn't wrong.She immediately put me at ease and I was able to open up honestly with her. The session itself was lovely, I went quickly into a trance state and, although it's early days, feel very much that the session was beneficial: I already feel lighter and more in control of the anxiety and other problems I suffer with.The Sheffield Wellness Centre is also the perfect therapeutic space. The therapy rooms are lovely and perfectly suited to a range of therapies and the studio is bright and welcoming. I'm so excited to continue my therapy with Fi and am 100% sure this will give me so much benefit, I can't recommend her and the SWC enough.

Lovely venue, I had a Reiki session with Jess. It was my first session with her, she was very welcoming and explain the process in detail. I loved the atmosphere of this place! Since the first contact, they were very welcoming and supportive. The location is perfect, surrounded by beautiful stores and a coffee shop, but still very quiet, like an island of peace in the middle of the city. I was extremely impressed when I first met Richard, he was kind, informative and genuinely interested in my profession, we chatted for ages and there was no rush. I was in need of a therapy space to work privately and was definitely not dissapointed once shown round the rooms. They are spacious, well equiped and a competitive rate per hour. Richard even went the extra mile (after listening to how I work) by buying and placing something in one the rooms which I can use with my clients. i used the Wellness Centre main room for a photoshoot ... The light was perfect, the environment clean and pleasing and the people lovely. It is a such a lovely environment in which to work and the calming and easy feel of the place unmistakable. While A photoshoot is not the primary role of the Wellness Centre I can highly recommend it should you want to use it as such ... And other wise ... It is just a lovely calming environment to use and the guys who run it lovely!!!!

I want to say a huge thanks to Richard he is amazing person and I am very pleased working with Richard ! I can't believe how I am change I mean my attitude and behaviour with my food , in the past I try 1000 diet and SlimmingWorld and weight watchers etc , yes it helps to losing weight but for temporary, but with hypnotherapy sessions you can start control what you eating and how much ! I always having sweets after every single meal even if I was full but now I don't need it!!!! I had 2 hypnotherapy sessions and I am very very satisfied. I am so grateful I meet Rich in my life I know it's not very cheap but believe me it worse it every single penny!!!!!! Thanks Richard!

Pamper PartyWhat a great idea! A bit of ‘me time’, in the most wonderfully relaxing surroundings. The Wellness Centre has such a relaxed, homely feel to it - much nicer than my actual home, as it is clean, tidy and welcoming!The atmosphere immediately put me at ease, I absolutely loved having time to chill out, chat and eat cake. Fi is the perfect hostess, making sure that we all had everything we needed, with her wonderful warm and caring manner. It was great to be able to choose what particular treatment or massage I wanted on the day. I surprised myself by trying something new and going for the hot stones massage, and I’m so glad I did. It was amazing, so deep and yet so gentle.It was really nice to experience my massage while listening to everyone else chatting happily, too. I completely recommend this if you are looking for the perfect excuse to have some guilt free time to yourself.

Choosing a therapist at The Sheffield Wellness Centre is relatively straightforward. After deciding what type of therapy, class or service you feel is right for you, check out our practitioners' profile pages and choose the one whose specialities are relevant to your situation or problem. While counselling and coaching are both talking therapies, they differ in a way. If you're unsure about which approach to choose, you may like to consider the following information.

Both counselling and life coaching are the same in that they can both be therapeutic and could help improve your overall wellbeing. They can be used to address personal issues and find solutions to everyday problems.

There are, however, a few differences between the two therapies. Counselling helps individuals explore issues relating to the past and determines how these issues affect them in the present. Life coaching may deal with the past, but it's more about finding ways to create a better future. It involves setting goals, and the therapist will be able to hold the client accountable.

Life coaching is excellent for people who feel stuck in a rut and who want to move on with their lives in a more positive way. It is ideal for those who want to take a different direction in life, and are perhaps considering a career change but are unsure of how to go about things. Counselling, on the other hand, provides a safe space in which a person can address difficult issues in their lives.

Counselling aims to help clients better understand themselves and find their own solutions. It can help cope with problems or emotions you're experiencing, particularly something that you can't change like losing a loved one or unsure of how you want something to change. The counsellor will offer a judgment-free environment and listen empathically to help figure out where the problem is. They may ask you questions, reflect back your understanding, and give feedback. This process enables you to process emotions, explore how you feel about certain situations in life, and understand your thoughts and feelings more clearly.

On the other hand, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) helps explore the relationship between thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviour. Most individuals who suffer from mental health problems get stuck in a vicious circle of negative thinking, which affects how they act and feel. This negative circle often affects how they overcome issues such as depression and anxiety.

CBT utilizes different methods and techniques to help you feel better and overcome problems. Typically, the therapist will ask questions before recommending techniques such as challenging thoughts, exposure, meditation, behavioural experiments and mindfulness training.
